The Beat Beet Juice


We had our first garden harvest over the weekend and I am truly in awe of my hubby’s green thumb.  Admittedly, my sole contribution to the garden was placement of produce vs. flowers. I also tend to yank weeds from time to time because seeing them drives me insane but regardless, I still take pride in our garden. Kwasi is committed to growing organic produce but this is not conducive to keeping small critters from going to town on your fruits and veggies.  Our heirloom tomatoes have been completed ravished by some greedy squirrel.  Thankfully, we have tons of beets and kale which I used in this juice recipe.

Disclosure: We did not grow the pineapple in the photo, just the kale and beets. 

For 3-4 servings:

  • 5 small beets
  • 1 small pineapple
  • 1 bunch of kale

Juice all ingredients and shake well in a mixer and serve over ice if you prefer your juice chilled.

Beet juice will increase your stamina when exercising and helps to increase oxygen flow to the blood.

WARNING: Please do not drink beet juice straight without another veggie or fruit. Take my word, you will regret.  Beets are a strong detoxifier and need to be mixed with something to tone down their cleansing properties.
